Want a tattoo while you're in Waikiki, or on a day off in Honolulu? Black Palette Tattoo & Piercing welcomes walk-ins at Waikiki Shopping Plaza, a 5-10 minute walk from most hotels. Text us first at (808) 649-2627 and we'll tell you which artist is available.

How Walk-Ins Work

  1. Call or text (808) 649-2627 with your idea, size and placement.

  2. We'll tell you which artists are available and when to come in.

  3. Bring a government-issued photo ID and meet your artist to finalize the design.

  4. Get tattooed, then take your aftercare instructions with you.

Availability varies, so a walk-in isn't a guaranteed slot. For larger or detailed pieces, an appointment is the best way to get the artist you want.

Monday to Saturday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Sunday, 12 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Walk-In Tattoo Prices

Our studio minimum is $125, tax included. Price depends on size, placement, detail and whether the piece is color. We also run regular specials that can go below our shop minimum, so check Sales & Special Offers first. We prefer cash and have an ATM in the studio. Cards are accepted with a 3% surcharge.

What to Bring and How to Prepare

  • Government-issued photo ID (required)

  • Reference images or your idea

  • No alcohol, ibuprofen or aspirin within 24 hours of your tattoo

  • A full meal, plenty of water and loose, comfortable clothing

  • Cover the area from the sun beforehand

Walk-In FAQ

Do I need an appointment? No, but text ahead so we can check availability. Appointments are best for large pieces or a specific artist.

I'm visiting Hawaii. Can I get a walk-in tattoo? Yes. Bring a government-issued photo ID and tell us how long you'll be in town so your artist can plan around your trip.

Do you tattoo minors? We tattoo ages 15-17 with a parent or legal guardian present for the entire appointment and the required ID, on arms and legs only.

Black Palette Tattoo & Piercing is at Waikiki Shopping Plaza, 2250 Kalakaua Ave. #330, Honolulu, HI 96815. Take the elevator to the 3rd floor, turn right, and the studio is on your right. We're a 5-10 minute walk from virtually all Waikiki hotels, and even faster by Biki.

The plaza's garage is on Lauula Street. We offer discounted 10-hour validations for $11.
